How to play Gap Garden
Touch controls: Tap the highlighted gap and then one of three letter buttons; letter buttons are at least 52 pixels tall and the grid cells are about 50 pixels square at 390 pixels viewport width.
Keyboard controls: Keys 1, 2 and 3 choose the first, second or third offered letter, P or Escape pauses, R restarts and M toggles sound.
Screen: This game works best in any orientation.
About Gap Garden
Gap Garden builds a small lattice of four garden words that cross one another, then takes one letter out of each. Because the words cross, a missing letter has to satisfy two words at once, and the crossing is what makes the gap solvable from either direction.
Every entry carries a single-word clue rather than a definition, so the reading is quick and the solving is about the letters. Three puzzles follow and the slips are shared across all of them.
