How to play Tight Turn
Touch controls: Drag towards the side of the card you want to turn to, and tap anywhere on the card for a short firm brake; the whole card is both a steering surface and a brake, so no control has to be hit precisely, and the road and the brake board scale to fit a 320 pixel wide phone in landscape without sideways scrolling.
Keyboard controls: Left arrow or A steers left, right arrow or D steers right, down arrow or S brakes for as long as it is held, up arrow, W or Space brakes hard for a moment, P or Escape pauses, R restarts, M toggles sound.
Screen: This game works best in landscape orientation.
About Tight Turn
Tight Turn is a single car time attack on an original winding road drawn for this game alone, with no real circuit, team or badge copied from anywhere. Nothing here is decided by lap traffic or by a rival: every corner is decided by when the brake goes on. Six bends of different tightness each carry a target speed that is shown before you reach them, and the whole discipline is arriving at the corner at or below that number while giving away as little time as possible on the way in.
Because the car never stops accelerating, a corner taken too fast costs twice: it pays a fraction of the points and it puts a wheel on the verge, which drags the car down to under half speed until the tyres are back on the road. Ten laps make a session, and the fastest lap is recorded next to the score.
