How to play Drift Delta
Touch controls: Press and hold the left or right half of the card to steer, or drag towards the side you want to turn; the whole card is a steering surface so no control has to be hit precisely, and the circuit scales to fit a 320 pixel wide phone in landscape without sideways scrolling.
Keyboard controls: Left arrow or A steers left, right arrow or D steers right, up arrow, W or Space gives a short burst, P or Escape pauses, R restarts, M toggles sound.
Screen: This game works best in landscape orientation.
About Drift Delta
Drift Delta is a circuit game where the score comes from the slide rather than the stopwatch. One car runs an original three sided circuit drawn for this game alone, with no real track, livery or badge copied from anywhere. The car is rear wheel drive in feel: the nose turns with the steering, the body follows a moment later, and the gap between the two is the drift. A meter on the card fills while the tail is out, and straightening up banks whatever is in the meter into the score.
Laps and checkpoints are there to give the session shape, but they pay small change compared with a long, clean slide. Hold a drift too long and the car runs wide onto the verge, which costs speed and wastes the points that were waiting in the meter, so every corner asks how much of the slide is worth keeping.
