How to play Lane Leap
Touch controls: Tap the lane you want anywhere on the road, or press and drag sideways, which slides the car across lanes as the pointer crosses each lane edge. The whole 420 by 720 board is one touch target, so no control has to be hit precisely, and the board scales to fit a 320 pixel wide phone without sideways scrolling.
Keyboard controls: Left arrow or A moves one lane left, right arrow or D moves one lane right, P or Escape pauses, R restarts, M toggles sound.
Screen: This game works best in portrait orientation.
About Lane Leap
Lane Leap is an endless three lane run with no circuit, no lap and no finish line - only a road that keeps accelerating. Your car sits at the bottom of the card and drifts across lanes on a tap, a sideways drag or an arrow key, while traffic comes the other way. Distance scores, overtaking scores, and the only thing that can end a good run is a third collision.
The road never lets up. Speed climbs from roughly a hundred and fifty metres worth of pixels a second toward four hundred, traffic spawns more often, and a hit costs a shield plus a quarter of your speed. Three shields is enough slack to learn the lanes and small enough that the last minute of a run is always the tense one.
