How to play Hive Holdout
Touch controls: Tap a defender in the shop and then Hold the wave; shop buttons are at least 52 pixels tall and the head-up buttons at least 44.
Keyboard controls: 1, 2 and 3 buy Thorn, Sap or Bark, Enter or Space holds the wave, P or Escape pauses, R restarts and M toggles sound.
Screen: This game works best in any orientation.
About Hive Holdout
Hive Holdout is a defence game about a purse rather than a battlefield. Every wave announces its swarm strength before it arrives, and the only choice is how to spend pollen: a Thorn blocks two points of swarm, a Sap three and a Bark four, at four, six and eight pollen each.
Defenders are bought once and stay for the rest of the run, so an early overspend leaves nothing for wave five. Held waves pay back pollen, and anything unblocked is taken out of the hive's twenty health.
