How to play Gate Guard
Touch controls: Tap a gate to post a guard and use Take back to undo; gate buttons are at least 96 pixels tall and the action buttons at least 48. Pause, Restart and Sound sit in the head-up row.
Keyboard controls: 1, 2 and 3 post a guard at that gate, Enter or Space holds the line, B takes one back, P or Escape pauses, R restarts and M toggles sound.
Screen: This game works best in any orientation.
About Gate Guard
Gate Guard is an allocation puzzle with nothing to control once the raid starts. Nine guards, three gates, and six raids that each ask for more than the last. Posting is done before the raiders appear, and pressing Hold the line commits the whole plan at once.
The last raid wants ten guards and you only have nine, so one gate always has to be left thin. The score rewards holding gates rather than surviving by luck, and the wall has eight points of health that only a breach can take away.
