How to play Truth Tangle

Touch controls: Tap a villager card anywhere to cycle its mark; each card is a full width button at least 56 pixels high, the list scrolls inside the board if a five villager puzzle is taller than the screen, and nothing on the card needs to be hit precisely.

Keyboard controls: Keys 1 to 5 cycle the mark on the matching villager, C checks the answers, X clears every mark, Enter or Space starts a run from the title or the end screen, P or Escape pauses and resumes, R restarts, M toggles sound.

Screen: This game works best in any orientation.

About Truth Tangle

Truth Tangle is a deduction game with no board at all: the puzzle is a handful of sentences. Every villager in the village is either a truth-teller, who says only true things, or a liar, whose statements are always false. Each one makes a single statement about the others, such as Bram is a liar, and the whole answer follows from the statements themselves rather than from the pictures on the cards.

Every puzzle in the run has exactly one consistent answer, which was checked when the puzzle was written by searching every possible set of villagers. Each new puzzle adds a villager, so the three villager opening teaches the rule and the five villager closing asks for real working out.
