How to play Comet Bait

Touch controls: Dragging anywhere in the field steers the ship toward the finger with an eased follow, so the entire board is the control surface and no small target has to be hit; the flare burst is keyboard only, and the board uses touch-action none so dragging never scrolls the page.

Keyboard controls: Arrow keys or W A S D steer the ship, Space fires the flare burst, Enter starts a run, P or Escape pauses, R restarts and M toggles sound.

Screen: This game works best in any orientation.

About Comet Bait

Comet Bait is the one game in the batch where the player has no attack at all. Comets slide in from the edges of the field and curve toward the ship, and they keep curving for as long as they are alive. The ship cannot shoot and cannot destroy anything: the only way a comet leaves the field is by hitting another comet.

That turns the whole game into a steering problem. Because a comet turns more slowly than the ship does, a tight turn can pull one comet into the path of the one behind it and let their own chase do the work. Two crashing comets pay, a third crash inside the same two seconds pays extra, and a comet that does catch the ship costs one of three plates.
