About StreetComplete
StreetComplete turns OpenStreetMap surveying into short questions on an Android phone. Walk to a marked place and check details such as a cycle lane, parking area, opening hours, or path surface. The app turns your answers into map edits without asking you to enter OpenStreetMap tags directly.
Questions are selected from the existing map data around you. Illustrations help explain the choices, and a statistics screen shows your mapping contributions. It is designed for collecting missing details while visiting a place rather than for turn-by-turn navigation.
The app is free and its current Google Play listing shows no ads or in-app purchases. An OpenStreetMap account is needed to upload contributions. Download an area's data before working offline, then connect again to submit answers. Only add details that you can verify at the place you are surveying.
What you can do
- Questions about nearby streets and places
- Illustrated answers for map details
- Automatic OpenStreetMap tag handling
- Mapping contribution statistics
- Prepare an area for offline surveying
Free features and limits
The app is free. Map contributions should describe details observed at the location.
