About mpv-android
mpv-android is a video player built around libmpv. Open a video file, choose subtitles, and use gestures to seek or change volume and brightness. Styled subtitles are supported through libass, and you can display a secondary subtitle track.
The player offers hardware and software decoding along with rendering controls such as scaling, debanding, and interpolation. Background playback and picture-in-picture let you continue playback while using other apps. Its Open URL command accepts supported network streams.
The Android app is free. You provide the media files or stream addresses; it does not include a film catalogue. Network streams require a connection, and performance depends on the video format, selected settings, and phone hardware.
