How to play Tangle Trail
Touch controls: Tap a stone to walk onto it, swipe in a direction to walk that way, and use Undo or Clear trail under the plot; both buttons are at least 44 pixels tall. The plot scales to the space left on the screen, so no stone is ever off screen.
Keyboard controls: Arrow keys or W A S D walk the trail, U steps back, Backspace or Delete clears the trail, P or Escape pauses, R restarts and M toggles sound.
Screen: This game works best in any orientation.
About Tangle Trail
Tangle Trail is a one-stroke puzzle. The trail starts on a marked stone and only grows by stepping onto a stone that touches the end of it, so the single line has to pass through every stone on the plot exactly once. Stepping onto a stone the trail already used is refused, because a trail that crosses itself has already failed.
Five plots follow one another, from nine stones in a three by three plot to fifteen stones behind a notch, and the last two plots also fix which stone the trail must finish on. Every plot was checked with an exact search before it was built in, so each one really can be traced from end to end.
