How to play Long Putt

Touch controls: Press anywhere on the green and drag. The drag vector from the press point sets both the line and the power, so the whole green is an active aim pad for the whole card.

Keyboard controls: Left and Right arrows aim the line, Up and Down arrows set the power, Space or Enter plays the putt, P or Escape pauses, R restarts, M toggles sound.

Screen: This game works best in any orientation.

About Long Putt

Long Putt shows the green from above. The ball sits near the bottom of the card, the cup and flag are further up, and faint arrows in the grass tell you which way the ground tilts. Drag away from the ball to set the line and the power, let go, and watch the slope pull the roll off line.

Every hole is a small reading exercise: the cup is never straight ahead once the tilt is taken into account, and the last metre of the roll is where the slope does most of its work. Six holes make a round, par is two strokes a hole, and the score is points rather than a stake of any kind.
