David Byrne casually showing up in an Olivia Rodrigo x Chappell Roan music video

David Byrne casually showing up in an Olivia Rodrigo x Chappell Roan music video was not on our 2026 bingo card. 💀 Olivia just released a new remix of “expectations” featuring Chappell Roan, marking Chappell’s first-ever official feature. The retro game show-inspired video brings the two pop stars together with another very special guest: Talking Heads frontman David Byrne, playing host Johnny Johnson. And honestly, having Byrne there feels pretty perfect. As the frontman of Talking Heads, he helped shape the sound and visual language of new wave and art rock, influencing generations of artists who followed. The new “expectations” remix already leans into that ’80s-inspired, new wave world, so seeing one of the artists who helped define that era pop up alongside Olivia and Chappell makes the whole thing even better. 🎤 Three very different generations of pop weirdness in one music video. What do we think of the “expectations” remix?
